Raphionacme hirsuta

A caudex forming species, which can be grown partially exposed, the caudex can reach a diameter of 30 cm, producing annual leaves with small purple flowers. It grows naturally in the highveld region and can handle significant water during summer and can withstand very cold conditions. Best grown in partial sunlight, with ample watering in summer. Plants are seed grown, three year old seedlings and have started flowering. The caudex is currently approximately 5 cm in diameter.
