Monsonia (Sarcocaulon) vanderietiae - Albany Candle Bush

A beautiful, low growing succulent with succulent stems up to 10 mm thick, with short thorns and large, white flowers throughout the summer. This species is native to the Albany district in the Eastern Cape. It is an easy plant to grow, water well throughout the summer and never allow to dry out too much, while reducing water during winter when the leaves fall off. Best grown in full sun and can take very high temperatures. Plants offered are adult plants now starting to flower. They are seed grown, with strong root systems.
