About us

We are a small nursery situated
in Bloemfontein in the Free State Province. The nursery is run by myself (Darius) with the help of my wife (Elmarie). At the moment we run the nursery as a part-time venture, which we will hopefully be able to expand in the future.
We have been growing succulents for the last 20 years and have a passion for our indigenous succulent flora. Our main focus is on the dwarf mesembs or stone plants, especially Conophytums, though we also grow a variety of Euphorbias, Stapeliads and Haworthias. Our main aim is to spread the knowledge and
appreciation of the unique succulents occurring in South Africa and to provide a source where locals can obtain some of the rarer succulent species not easily found in SA. We are passionate about the conservation of our rich succulent flora and hope that through providing a locally grown resource, we can somewhat relieve the pressure on wild populations. We guarantee that none of the plants provided by us have been removed from nature and all our plants are grown at our greenhouse either from seed or cuttings. We also have a botanical background and all our plants are correctly identified down to species level. We also provide information on the natural occurrence of the species and detailed cultivation advice.

  • We have an extensive botanical background and all plants provided by us are accurately identified down to species level and we also provide information on the plants’ natural distribution and detailed cultivation advice.

  • Our main aim is to promote the knowledge and appreciation of the unique succulent plants occurring in South Africa.

  • A few notes….

We are an online nursery only and
do not currently cater for walk-in clients.

  • All our plants are sent bare-root
(without soil), carefully packaged and shipped via courier.

  • We are still a small, part-time
operation which limits our range of species, but we are expanding and will
continuously add new species as they become ready.

  • We send out all new orders on
Mondays. All new orders will be shipped within 7 days after receiving an order. Orders will only be shipped after payment has been cleared.

  • We will never supply or trade in
plants removed from habitat, all our plants are grown from seeds or cuttings.

  • We only supply to the local RSA
market and are not able to accept any international orders.
